Summary: One evening Jesus was eating with twelve of his disciples. While they were eating he told them that one of them would betray him. Not one disciple would believe him. Jesus told Peter that one day he would deny him. Jesus said” before the rooster crows twice you yourself will disown me three times. Peter denied and said that even if he had to die he would never disown him. Jesus and his disciples went to a place called Gethsemane.

He told them to sit here and keep watch while he prayed. Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping.

He awakened them and went away once more, to pray. When he came back, they were asleep again. He returned the third time and found them sleeping again. He said to them that his betrayer is coming. Just when Jesus was speaking, Judas one of the twelve, appeared with a crowd of soldiers. They all condemned him to death.

They began to hit him with their fists and began to spit at them. While peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servants looked closely at him. She noticed him as one of Jesus’ disciples. Peter denied it three times.
