Informative Speech Essay

Preparation Outline Speech Title: Behind the Throne Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about drumming. Central Idea: Types of drums. Styles of professional drummers and personal experience Introduction: I’m sure we’ve all had a beat in our head that we couldn’t get rid of. A rhythm that you felt and couldn’t resist the urge to bob your head to. Maybe you’ve even had the pleasure of playing the video game “rock band” and stepped up to the throne to test your mettle and keep the beat going as the backbone of the band.

Essay Example on Informative Speech

By now you can probably guess that the beat I’m talking about is the beat of the drums. The drums are a relatively simple instrument in theory. However, having played them more devoutly the last 3 years and occasionally filling in as a drummer for my friends band (practices only) they are not simple to play by any stretch of the imagination but with a little rhythm & coordination and lots of practice you can be on your way to actually playing the drums.

They have been used by various cultures around the world since humans started making music.

From a single drum played with by hand to multiple piece drum sets played with sticks and electronic drums. Over the next few minutes I hope to entertain you and inform you about some of the styles of professional drummers, my personal experience and the different types of drums.
